Financial targets exceed by 300% in the year with new steel tank product line established with 3x400m3 tanks sold in both North and South Island and sold the companies first Wastewater Treatment Plant in 5yrs.
WATER AND WASTE MANAGER, Over 8 years as the department manager for Matamata Piako District Council, with a range of infrastructure: Water, Wastewater, Stormwater and Solidwaste with annual operating budget $12.16million and annual renewal $4.97million. Providing leadership to the Three Waters Management team of 5, and delivery team staff of 20. Also responsible for the Council's solid waste collection (recycling and rubbish), resource recovery park & transfer station operations, closed landfill monitoring, waste minimization education and other services.
With additional responsible for the direct management of the Councils major projects, with a 5 year $35million capital works programme to construct 4 new wastewater plants for the district. This programme was practically challenging due the previous 10yrs backlog in resource consent required capital improvements, that all became pressing at the same time.
WATER SERVICES MANAGER, Over 4 years in the service delivery role for Bay of Plenty Branch Excell Corporation (NZ largest Infrastructure Maintenance Company), focused on maintaining good relationships with Clients and improving the service provided to keep them satisfied. Resolve technical problems, manage team performance, track finances and control the quality of service delivery. The high level of interaction with clients, employees and management. Achieved year in year profitability increase – Yr 1 13% on EBIT, to 41% by Yr 4.
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER, 4 years with Waimakariri District Council responsible for asset management, utilities systems planning, and project delivery management. Key accomplishments were preparing Asset Management Plans for Roading, 3 Waters, Properties and Parks and Reserves activities, and project managing the 2020 District Development Strategy which aimed at providing strategic direction for growth in North Canterbury.
KIWI DAIRIES (Fonterra) PROPERTY MANAGER, Whareroa Site which contained 9 factory halls, corporate headquarters, gas turbine power station, and warehousing. Over 4 years as the facilities manager responsible for the management of factory building services and infrastructure maintenance for water treatment/ sewer/ storm water and site roads, site security, fire protection and biosecurity. Proving 24hr/7 days a week, with team of 7 staff and 30 contractors. Whareroa site remains the largest dairy processing site in the southern hemisphere, with a daily capacity of 13.8 million litres of milk so twenty per cent of New Zealand's dairy products are manufactured at site.
CIVIL ENGINEER, The First 8 years of my engineering career with South Taranaki District Council, proving engineering services for the Council’s roading network including surveying, draughting, road design, contract writing, and contract management. Plus RAMM Surveys and maintenance programmes for the Council’s roading network.
TOASTMSATER, Over a 10 years holding many roles within Tauranga TM Club including MC for the National Convention in 2011, Tauranga Toastmaster of Year 2014, and winning a dozen public speaking competition titles at Club, Area and Region level.
DYSLEXIA CAMPAIGNER, Since 2002 have actively campaigned for educational reform and also mentored Dyslexic Adults and Children. Selected to speak at the annual TED Conference at ASB Tech Arena Tauranga on innovations in the field of Dyslexia: “Learning Differently”. In addition the Founder and Trustee of registered charitable trust. Fundraising and running educational programmes for primary school teachers in the Waikato.
